Men's Senior (10.11km) : Kaya is the king for fourth European gold of the yearThe last race of the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Hyères was the longest and toughest, taking in the long loop four times. Not that any of those difficulties seemed to trouble the sensational Turkish star Ali Kaya, who moved from silver last year to gold this time with a wonderful display as he rubber-stamped his distance-running dominance. Races of this standard are normally close affairs, but by 3km Kaya was all out on his own.

Under-23 Women (5.94km) : Carton puts seal on her brilliant winterLouise Carton proved the form book to be right at the SPAR European Cross Country Championships today. The Belgium has been prolific throughout this winter with her successes leading up to this main event and how she delivered. It was close, it meant tactics had to be used to the fore, but Carton ensured she had just enough left to hold off the challenge of the Netherland's Jip Vastenburg, with both women given the same time of 19:46.

Junior Women (4.15km) : Klosterhalfen times her finish to perfectionGermany made a brilliant start to the SPAR European Cross Country Championships in Hyères on Sunday - as Konstanze Klosterhalfen led them to individual and team gold. Klosterhalfen, 18, might not have been the name the runners would have worried about most with the presence of her fellow German Alina Reh, the European Junior 3000m and 5000m champion, in the field. But Klosterhalfen had a successful time in Eskilstuna in the summer, too, as she won bronze in the 1500m and now she moved up to the top of the podium.
